My name is Karen Walker, I am the owner and  designer at Hatboxes and More. I have a small design studio located in the beautiful mountains of NE Alabama. Nestled in a picturesque river valley in the Lookout Mountain foothills, just outside Gadsden, Alabama. Our beautiful location is the inspiration for many of our designs. Even in our busy modern world, we take care in giving all of our items that "Old South" touch.

I started Hatboxes and More because I love beautiful things, and I was at a place in my life where I was able to share with others.   I've been an R.N. for more than 30 years and my grown sons and I own a small, private duty nursing agency, caring for patients in their homes.  Hatboxes and More is my therapy for a busy modern lifestyle. I love to sit down at night and on the weekends and create things that make me happy, and thanks to modern technology, hopefully bring that same happiness to others. I personally stand behind everything I make and offer to you on this website.

Everything we offer is hand made OR hand embellished, and we use only the finest materials and fabrics available.

Nothing leaves our studio until it meets with our satisfaction, even if that means taking a little extra time. We believe that you will appreciate this commitment to quality. Everything we sell is guaranteed to meet your satisfaction, or we will refund your money. That is our complete commitment to you, and to our craft.

We shop from merchants around world to find unique and vibrant fabrics to use on our products. Some of the fabrics are produced in small quantities and may never be printed again. We also work with our suppliers to find special fabrics not commonly found on other products. We want our fabrics to be as unique as possible, which we believe gives our products a very special touch.

ATTENTION UNITED STATES MILITARY PERSONNEL: If you would like something shipped to an APO, please email us for special pricing and shipping information. Our email address is on our Contact Us page. We can and do ship to APO, but our shopping cart system is unable to process an APO, therefore we must do this manually. Thank you for your service!

SHIPPING INFORMATION: All pre-made products are shipped out every Tuesday and Friday. Once your order has been packed and leaves our studio, you will receive an email informing you the order has been shipped, and an estimated time of arrival of your package. Customized orders can take as long as 10 days to prepare. All details will be given to you over the phone when you place a custom order.

RETIRED PRODUCTS: To see examples of our past work, please see our Photobucket album. Some of our previous products used fabrics which were in limited supply, or going out of print. These are some of our products that have fabrics we may no longer be able to obtain, but gives you more insight into our designs and products.

CUSTOM SERVICE WITH YOUR OWN FABRICS: If you have a fabric that you love, we can custom make boxes with fabric you may already own or have access to. Simply call or email us, and we will give you the measurements required for whatever size boxes you want, as well as quote you a price. Simply send us the fabric and we do the rest! Once we receive the fabric, it will take about 10 days to have your product ready to ship to you. We maintain a large selection of boxes ready to be embellished, however, should we not have the size you want in stock, we can order it from our supplier. This will add additional time to your order fulfillment, but we will inform you of that up front.
